Job Duties:

  • Conducts client meetings and/or conference calls to address issues, needs analysis and trouble shooting of company profile set up and maintenance to ensure client satisfaction is achieved and business potential is maximized.
  • Work closely with outside sales staff to grow Maxxam’s market share with existing and new clients.
  • Fundamental understanding of Maxxam’s QC policies as it pertains to reportable results.
  • Proactively ensures overall satisfaction of client base including communication to management team as appropriate.
  • Uses innovative and proactive methods to ensure core performance standards and business goals as measured by scorecards, coaching sessions and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Provides clients with accurate, consistent and timely information, consulting with appropriate resources when required.
  • Researches all client inquiries to complete resolution, enter corresponding orders / quotes with complete documented follow-up.
  • Provides clear, concise and accurate information to operations as it pertains to client projects (including, but not limited to rush and ongoing projects).
  • Reports analytical results to clients within expected turn around times (TATs). If necessary, provide clear and concise instructions based on report findings (results, QC, etc).
  • Adheres to Maxxam Code of Ethics Policy
  • Supports and complies with all Maxxam policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry or environmental related and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Energetic personality that can work independently in a multi tasking fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as engage others when required in escalation of concerns to meet the client needs or to best manage client disappointments.

Job Duties:

·         Ensures and maintains TAT directives for department

Maxxam has an opportunity for an Assistant General Manager for our Edmonton environmental laboratory. The Edmonton lab serves a number of important national clients and has been seeing steady growth. The Assistant General Manager will provide the lab with strong leadership and ensure efficient use of human, equipment and financial resources. The manager will also facilitate the production of high quality defensible data, safely and on-time. 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: 

  • Leadership in the area of Health and Safety, environmental compliance and sustainability.
  • Production planning and management of staffing and instrument utilization. Monitors turn-around times and prioritize activities to meet the required due dates.
  • Manages financial performance; prepares annual budgets and capital requests.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager in Calgary, the qualified applicant will be responsible for ensuring the Quality Assurance Program is effectively implemented at Maxxam’s Calgary location, and may be required to provide QA support to other Maxxam labs throughout Alberta.   Responsibilities include:

 

  • Monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to ensure continual and effective implementation.
  • Educate and train staff in the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Ensure the Quality System Tools are available and used.
  • Encourage, identify and participate in continual improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
